Former James Bond, Sir Roger Moore Passes Away At 89 After A Short Battle With Cancer

British actor Sir Roger Moore, who will forever be remembered for playing James Bond, died Tuesday aged 89, his family announced in a statement on Twitter.

“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer,” they said.

The legendary actor had played the cult role of James Bond in seven movies between 1973 and 1985.

His 12 years as James Bond, the British agent with a voracious appetite for danger and sex, made Moore a millionaire as well as a heartthrob the world over.

He was also voted ‘Best Bond’ in Academy polls back in the day.
