Rangeela (1995)

Matondkar received her first Filmfare Critic’s Award for best actress for this performance. This horror film directed by Ram Gopal Varma sent shivers down our spine and the credit goes to the actress.
Kaun (1999)
A film entirely shot in one house has the actress playing a woman staying alone in a big house when some mysterious visitors turn up. Featuring just Matondkar, Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh Rajput in pivotal roles, the film was compelling largely thanks to the performances by the actors.
Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya (2001)
Matondkar was the best thing about the film about a possessive lover who just couldn’t let go of the object of her affection.

Based on an iconic Punjabi novel, Matondkar plays Puro whose happy life is shattered when she is kidnapped. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.
Satya (1998)
In Ram Gopal Varma’s gangster film, Matondkar played aspiring singer Mili—an innocent, young girl in love with a gangster.
Judaai (1997)
Urmila was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Judaai, in which she played the ‘other woman’ in a weepy family drama.
