If raising objection over ‘lady oriented’ film Lipstick Under My Burkha and the word  ‘intercourse’ in a mini trailer of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer film Jab Harry Met Sejal in the recent times wasn’t enough, the censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani has now come up with an idea of banning smoking and drinking scenes in the films.

According to a report filed by the Hindustan Times, Nihalani said “Merely putting a ticker warning at some remote corner of the screen whenever there is smoking or drinking shown, is not enough any more. We feel the superstars who are followed by millions and who set an example in societal behaviour must not be shown drinking or smoking on screen unless the provocation for doing so is really strong.”

Hours after his statement, social media was taken by a storm and how!

A report filed by the Deccan Chroncile suggests that he had recently sent a legal notice to IIFA and its organisers Wizcraft International for misusing his picture during a skit performed by Ritesh Deshmukh and Manish Paul at the award event held on July 15 in New York.

Well, with only a few months left for his term as a censor board chief, looks like Pahlaj Nihalani wants to make the most of it!
