Last year, Milind Soman got hitched to his long-time girlfriend, Ankita Konwar. And before you start counting how many hearts their union broke, wait till you hear their love story.
In a Humans of Bombay post, Ankita opened up about how they got to meet each other and everything that followed.
Ankita, who was working as a cabin crew member with an airline, in a tragic turn of events, lost her boyfriend.
A few months later, she happened to meet Milind Soman at a hotel in Chennai.
I kept looking at him & he was staring at me too! My friends urged me to go talk to him. So I asked if he’d like to dance & he obliged! There was a vibe–I could feel it!
Coming back to Ankita and Milind’s story, she didn’t want to get too involved, as she didn’t know where Milind stood. But cupid worked its magic on him. He came looking for Ankita and also went out of his way to get her number.
I thought he’d forget about me. But soon he came looking for me–he had to go so he asked for my number… A few days passed by & I couldn’t get him out of my mind. So I texted him & we met again after a week, for dinner. After that, we’d constantly text and meet.
If this hasn’t made you cuss your kismat yet, hold your stars, because it gets more perfect.
Ankita still had concerns getting fully involved with him because of her past. To which (keep tissues ready) Milind said-
‘When I fell in love with you, I fell in love with all of you. Even the part that carries the burden of your past. So don’t be afraid, we’re in this together.’
That’s when Ankita knew Milind was the one for him. Her family also saw past the ‘age gap’ thing when they realised how happy they are with each other.
Ankita also revealed a lesser known fact that these two love-birds actually got married thrice. There was the ‘traditional wedding in Alibaug, a white wedding in Spain under a waterfall, and the third, at a place called ‘the end of the world’’, which is in remote Russian Siberia.
