I don’t know about you but I love watching rom-coms. I mean, it doesn’t hurt if a romantic movie can tickle you too, right?

So, considering that you’re also like me (probably why you opened this article), here I have compiled the list of top 10 romantic movies of all time, according to Rotton Tomatoes

1. Casablanca – 98%

When a nightclub owner discovers that his ex is in town with her husband, and her husband is a famed rebel, he helps them in leaving the country. This movie is undoubtedly one of the best romantic movies of all time.  

2. It Happened One Night – 98%

It’s a classic movie which shows the story of a spoiled heiress who runs away from her family and is helped by a man who later turns out to be a reporter who’s in need of a story. Set in the pace for a ‘screwball’ comedy, the witty clash between a man and a woman with different social status will definitely entertain you in all sorta ways. 

3. The Shape of Water – 92%

This movie narrates the story of a woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government lab in Baltimore. Her life changes when she finds out the biggest secret of the lab. Although it doesn’t sound anything like a romantic movie, trust me, you must watch this with your bae. 

4. Singin’ in the Rain – 100%

Set in the emergence of ‘talkies’, this movie stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont – two of the best silent film stars in Hollywood. The plot follows their lavish lives being disturbed by the misconduct of Lina Lamont. TBH, this is a must-watch for y’all. 

5. The Big Sick – 98%

This movie is about a Pakistani comic who meets an American student at one of his stand-up shows. Initially, they thought that it would just be a one-night stand, but as their love blossoms, the guy starts stressing about what his traditional Muslim parents will think about it. Later when the girl goes to coma due to her illness, the lover finds himself bonding well with her parents, and he also has to tackle the cultural differences between their parents. 

6. The Adventures of Robin Hood – 100%

The film ties together the various ancient anecdotes about the capture of Richard the Lionheart. The plot revolves around the timeline of Sir Robin of Locksley and Maid Marian’s romance in an unusual setting. Honestly, this movie should definitely be on your weekend list. 

7. Call Me by Your Name – 95%

Set in the summer of 1983, this movie tells the tale of a 17-year-old, spending his vacation with his family in an old villa in Italy. The film takes a turn when he falls for an intern, who was working for his father. 

8. The Philadelphia Story – 100%

Adapted from a play of the same name, this movie is a story about a woman who falls in love with three men but she can’t decide whom she truly loves the most. SOOOO relatable. 

9. Vertigo – 95%

This film is about an ex-police officer who is afraid of heights and is hired to prevent an old friend’s wife from committing suicide. The story turns upside down when he becomes obsessed with a very beautiful woman. 

10. Roman Holiday – 98%

This movie shows the story of a European princess who takes off for a night after being overwhelmed by her suffocating schedule. And then she falls asleep on a park bench and is found by a reporter, who takes her back to his apartment for safety. And the rest of the story you can find yourself by watching it.
