Soon after he moved into his new sea-facing flat in the Mumbai suburb of Juhu, spiritual guru-turned-rockstar-turned-actor Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been asked to vacate the flat by the residents of the housing society.
Members of Riviera Cooperative Housing Society, where the spiritual guru is living in an apartment on rent, has issued a notice asking him to leave the society, reports the Mumbai Mirror.
The residents are reportedly upset about being asked to constantly undergo security checks by the guru’s personal security staff.
The guru who occupies the 6th & 7th floor in the buildings reportedly has a squad of 36 armed policemen to protect him and residents are upset by the inconvenience and the space occupied by the security detail.
The society’s chairman said that the housing committee will meet soon and take a decision regarding the spiritual leader living in the complex.
However, Guru Ram Rahim Singh’s spokesperson denied the allegations and said “appropriate action” will be taken against those who try to defame him.
