’Yeh Hain Aapke Achhe Din?’ Kapil Sharma Asks PM After BMC Demands Bribe, CM Responds

After allegedly being asked for a bribe of Rs 5 lakh, stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma tweeted at Prime Minister Narendra Modi :

And given he’s one of India’s most popular comedians, a response came swiftly from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted:

Subsequently, BMC’s vigilance chief engineer Manohar Pawar stated that serious action will be taken against the culprits who demanded the bribe. He also requested Sharma to name the person who had approached him for a bribe, reports The Times of India.

BJP MP Kirit Somaiya from Mumbai North east constituency also took to Twitter to express his concern over the matter.

It’s not yet clear what has taken place since then as the comedian has remained silent. It’s also not clear how the civic body can take action given there’s no official complaint filed. But one thing’s for clear, Sharma might not face any more trouble in getting his office constructed.
