Macaulay Culkin Returns As A Grown Up Kevin From ‘Home Alone’. And Boy, Is He Messed Up!

Home Alone has been a Christmas staple for generations. Those long holidays are never complete without revisiting memories of Macaulay Culkin playing the role of Kevin McCallister in the family comedy.

To many kids, Kevin is a hero of sorts. He single handedly takes on burglars and has a kickass presence of mind. His methods are ingenious, enterprising, and extremely entertaining, to say the least.

Bringing in a twist of the worst kind, Macaulay in an online series, realizes and plays the character of Kevin McCallister all grown up, and from what we see here, things aren’t good at all from his point of view.

Jump 25 winters from the movie and Culkin portrays Kevin, who’s grown up to be a cab driver, in a web series called DRYVRS. He is opening up to fellow passengers, disturbed and disgruntled from the trauma of the Christmas evening that managed to keep us entertained for years.

“It’s fucking Christmas and your whole family goes on a vacation and they forget their eight-year old son”, he frets.

“All by yourself in the house for a week. I had to fend off my house from two psychopath home invaders. I was just a kid.”

“I still have nightmares about this bald weirdo dude chasing me around, talking like Yosemite Sam. They remembered my bastard of a brother, but they forget me, the cutest fucking eight-year-old in the universe,” he added.

When a carjacker shows up, Culkin pulls out some good old Home Alone tricks and captures him. The instinct of Kevin kicking in from Home Alone makes it even more real.

Macaulay Culkin gives us a completely different take on the movie. What if Kevin grows up to be like Macaulay, disturbed and dark from those memories? What if he could never get over the trauma that holiday had to offer to him? What if he never got over the loneliness and had never forgiven his family for forgetting him?

Home Alone fans, did you ever even remotely think this is what could have happened to the smartass Kevin?
