Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has received a death threat from an anonymous caller demanding a sum of Rs 50 lakh from him.
The 68-year-old filmmaker took to Twitter on Thursday morning to talk about the extortion call. He says the caller threatened to kill him along with his daughter Alia Bhatt and wife Soni Razdan if failed to deposit the money in a Lucknow-based bank branch.
According to India Today report, Mahesh Bhatt immediately got an FIR registered at the Juhu police station in Mumbai late on Wednesday night after getting multiple messages from the caller.
The case has now been transferred to the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell, who will investigate the matter further.
