Dev.D Actor, Mahie Gill Reveals She’s ‘Happily Unmarried’ & A Proud Mother Of A 3-Year-Old

Asmita

Known for her roles in Dev.D and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster, Mahie Gill revealed in an interview with Navbharat Times, that she is a proud mother of a girl child.

Veronica, her daughter, will turn three years old in August. She also added that she is unmarried and will get married when she feels like it.

Explaining why she never chose to reveal that she is a mother, the 43-year-old said that no one asked her. It’s not as though she was trying to hide the fact that she has a daughter out of wedlock.

A rough translation of her Hindi statement, where she explains why family and kids need not necessarily be associated with marriage-

Why do I need to get married? I am happy like this (single) and I think one can stay happily unmarried. One can have a family and kids even without marriage. I do not think we need marriage for kids and a family. Marriage is a beautiful thing but whether or not to go for it, is a personal choice.

@mom, @dad, @rishtaaunty, @society. Please take notes.

She mentioned that her aunt takes care of her daughter. She lives with her in Mumbai.

She also added that love is an important aspect of her life. She wants someone ‘who loves her, trusts her and gives her freedom’.

The actor, who is awaiting the release of her net film, Family of Thakurganj, added that her boyfriend lives in Goa.

Here’s to normalising ‘unconventional’ life choices!
