The upcoming Marathi film, Nude (Chitraa), directed by Ravi Jadhav, has seen its fair share of problems with the film board and the I&B ministry and was even taken off the IFFI Panorama section in November last year.
In an attempt to clear suspicion around the subject of the movie, the film had dropped a short teaser in November, 2017.
Now, the trailer of the movie has released and it seems to be the perfect mixture of a great story and excellent execution.
Starring Kalyanee Mulay, Chhaya Kadam and Naseeruddin Shah (in a special appearance), the movie is centered around a mother who poses as a nude model for students of an art college, in order to fund her son’s education.
The unnecessary stigma involved with the profession, and the opportunity (of better income) that this job presents, is the dichotomy that the movie explores.
The subject of the movie had led to multiple controversies with the CBFC but finally, the film was cleared with an A certificate and no cuts.
The movie is set to release on April 27.
