In what can easily be called the unexpected on-screen couple of 2019, actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty come together in the romantic comedy Motichoor Chaknachoor, the trailer for which released today.
Nawazuddin plays the role of a 36-year-old bachelor who is a little too eager to get married, but unable to find a partner.
Athiya Shetty plays the role of a considerably younger woman, who wants to get married – but only to an NRI. Because she dreams of a life outside of India.
And thus begins a love story based on lies, which translates to a marriage of convenience, or rather, inconvenience for the two.
Though the movie makes an attempt at humor, what comes across is a situation where even a laughter track may not be able to save the premise.
