Singer Neha Kakkar, who is currently judging Indian Idol 11 is known to be exceptionally loving and emotional on the show. In a recent heartwarming gesture, she gave a contestant of her show Rs 1 Lakh so he could celebrate Diwali with his loved ones.
Diwas Kumar, one of the contestants from the show shared that his family and friends from Jharkhand have showed him immense support ever since his audition was successful. While talking to the judges, Diwas broke down, overwhelmed by emotions and spoke about how he hasn’t been home in 6 years. He found himself working at a factory during Diwali and never really celebrated, listening to the crackers bursting outside.
His story moved the judges and Neha Kakkar decided to give Diwas Rs 1 Lakh so he can go home and celebrate the festival with his family. Neha asked him to take a flight home and get his family members’ new clothes and sweets. Diwas was recently also praised by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in a tweet for his performence.
