By now Game of Thrones is not merely a TV series, it’s a full-blown cult with its own following and mass hysteria. Sometimes the fandom trickles into the real world like this very amusing episode in Trondheim, Norway.

In a cute display of theatrics, the Norwegian Police recently arrested the ‘Night King’. This violent criminal has been booked for animal cruelty, property damage, and now child murder could possibly be added to the list.

The Norwegian Police said on Facebook

The police have received many complaints about a man from the northern region involved in criminal activity. Complaints include animal cruelty and property damage (there have been reports of a wall being destroyed), as well as threats to lay vast areas of land desolate. Our night watch has now apprehended the man to deter any further criminal activity on his behalf.

The masked man, who’s obviously not the Night King, was an officer dressed as the character. The officers who are ardent fans of the show told BoredPanda they’re big fans of the show and wanted to do something fun before the premiere of the final season.

One of the officers explained,

One officer borrowed a mask and orange jumpsuit from a neighbour and the rest was improvised by two patrol units during lunch break.

Will we hopefully get some details about what he’s after in an interrogation? At least this should hold him off for a while, while team Jon Snow draws their battle swords. We can only hope.
