Pak Minister Demands An Apology From Ashutosh Gowariker After Watching ‘Mohenjo Daro’

A Pakistani Minister was so disgruntled after watching Mohenjo Daro that he has demanded an apology from its director, Ashutosh Gowariker. The Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Sardar Ali Shah, says the film mocks the highly-developed, 5,000-year old Indus Valley civilisation, reports The Dawn.

He further states that the movie does not adhere to actual historical facts, and is mere imagination of the director.

Shah has criticised Gowariker and would like to convey his opinion to the makers of the film, who he says have clearly distorted facts without acknowledging the importance of the heritage sites of the Harappan civilisation.

Many of the sites are in Pakistan and are included in the list of international heritage sites, with UNESCO caring for them in coordination with the Pakistani government.

Since its release on August 12, Hrithik Roshan-starrer Mohenjo Daro has been constantly slammed and grilled by several historians and critics. The film has failed miserably at the Box-Office.
