A popular Malayalam actor was kidnapped and allegedly molested in Kochi on Friday night. The incident took place near the Kochi international airport in Ernakulam district when she was returning from Thrissur.
According to a report by The Indian Express, it all started when the car which she was travelling hit a tempo traveller.
The men in the traveller came out of their vehicle and started a fight with Martin, the actor’s driver. After pushing aside Martin, they got inside the car and drove around the city for around one and half hours.
They allegedly molested the actor inside the car and took several photos of her.
They finally dropped her at Palarivattom junction and fled in another car. She later drove to the house of a director, who informed the police, reports Manorama Online.
A Mathrubhumi report says that the attack is suspected to be a conspiracy to blackmail her.
Police officials have arrested her driver Martin who is accused of being part of the conspiracy to carry out the attack. They authorities are on a lookout for five accused who were involved.
The main accused, Sunil Kumar, has several criminal cases registered against him.
