Ditching IIFA For Precious Family Time, PC Proves She’s A Woman Who Has Got Her Priorities Right

Bollywood’s biggest stars recently came together for IIFA 2017 in New York City. It was a starry affair as the film industry’s who’s who turned up in their most glamorous avatar, and made a few awkward jokes during the evening.

One face who was conspicuous with her absence was actor Priyanka Chopra, who was around in town on the night of the awards, but didn’t make it to event with her colleagues. When asked the actor responded saying, she would rather spend her off days with family and ring in her birthday.

I just got a few days off from shoot, so I decided to ring in my birthday with my family and close friends back home. I thought that’s more important this year.

After delivering a hit TV series in Quantico and her role as the femme fatale in Hollywood debut Baywatch, she’s been squeezed for time between her professional commitments and personal life.

Coming from small town to going on to win Miss World, conquering Bollywood and now making her mark in Hollywood – it’s been a long journey. And it is heartwarming to see her not lose her grip on reality even with so much money and fame. She’s remembered the people who matter in her life.

In an age where actors can’t get enough of the many events to be seen and remain in public consciousness, it is heartening to see an actor on top her game giving a PR opportunity a miss to be with the people who matter the most.  Kudos girl!
