No matter how dramatic we find soap operas, they do have given us some gem actors and actresses. Some of these like Aamna Sharif, Jay Bhanushali and Hansika Motwani successfully became a part of the film industry brigade. One such talent to join the filmy world is Radhika Madan of Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi fame.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha features Radhika Madan in a completely new avtaar in the role of Badki. But apart from being Ishaani and Badki onscreen, what is Radhika like?

Poles apart from her on-screen presence, Ishani, Radhika is one effusive and fizzy individual. Forget the dramatic meltdowns of Ishaani, there’s so much more to this dynamic Dilli ki kudi, who also happens to be a dance instructor.

Her love for dancing was widely acknowledged by the fans in Jhalak Dikhla Ja Season 8.

Talking to Verve Magazine, she takes a cute dig at her own lovesick role in Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, Radhika says all she does is “cry, cry and cry” on the set-

“We are poles apart. Ishani is very sweet, subtle and she doesn’t talk so much. But I am very talkative and a complete tomboy. I can never cry and for this role, I have to cry all the time.”

A Sufi music, and Coke Studio fan, Radhika believes in leading a chilled-out life. She tells her mantra to deal with criticism is simple to Free Press Journal

“I don’t hold on to it or moan about it. I learn from it and I don’t take it too hard be it anything. I neither take compliments seriously nor do I take criticisms seriously.”

Talking about her dream role, Radhika says she should love to play Geet from Jab We Met.

Yep, we can totes picture her as Geet.

If you somehow can’t picture her bubbly self as Geet, then listen to this.

Apart from binge-watching Sex and The City, Radhika likes to watch her own show, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi.

Also, did you know for her role as Badki in Pataakha, she along with her co-star, Sanya Malhotra, stayed in Ronsi village near Jaipur to learn the Rajasthani dialect? According to Mumbai Mirror, she also got accustomed to daily practices like milking cows, plastering walls with cow dung, and balancing matkas full of water on her head.

Talking about her role in Pataakha, Radhika tells Scroll

“Champa Kumari is more bossy. She feels that she is always right and loathes the presence of the younger one for no reason at all.”

Out there to prove her mettle in the industry, Radhika is one bubbly and ambitious individual with a positive outlook towards life. And we look forward to more of her work. Woot.
