Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Newton’ Wins Best Film At The Hong Kong International Film Festival

After garnering a standing ovation at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival in February, Rajkummar Rao starrer film Newton bags the Jury’s choice for Best Film at the Hong Kong International Film Festival.

The 32-year-old actor took to twitter to share the good news. 

The festival which commenced on April 11, will be concluded on April 25.

The film received its first global recognition by winning the Art Cinema award for the Forum section at Berlinale. And it also had its mark at the 16th Annual Tribeca Film Festival.

Directed by Amit Masurkar, film Newton which also stars Anjali Patel in the lead role, revolves around a clerk placed on election duty in a conflict-ridden area of Chhattisgarh.

The India release date of the film is yet to be announced.
