While everybody is hailing actress Ramya for her powerful role as Sivagami. Not many know that the role is question was first offered to the Hawa Hawai beauty, Sridevi.
According to a report filed by ABP News, actress Sridevi was approached to play the role of Sivagami Devi in Baahubali franchise but refused to be a part of it as the team couldn’t fulfill her demands of a whopping Rs 6 crore. Southern veteran actress, Ramya Krishnan finally went on to essay the valiant Sivagami and garnered rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
A report filed by India TV quoted a source “When we approached her, her husband, Boney Kapoor, quoted a staggering fee. Plus, he wanted a share of the Baahubali profits. We dropped the idea immediately, though we were very keen on casting Srideviji. Later, we came to know she did a Tamil film (Puli), where she was given the fee that her husband wanted”.
DNA reported that Southern Veteran actress Ramya Krishnan was later roped in by Baahubali team after she accepted Rs 2.5 crore to play the same role.
Well, Ramya definitely did justice to Sivagami’s character in the film.
