Even if you’re not an ardent Hindi film music lover, there’s no way you’ve not heard Koi Fariyaad, the ghazal from Tum Bin (2001), sung by the legendary Jagjit Singh. It’s a song that’s still well-etched in the hearts of the singer’s fans and remains one of his most iconic tracks. Composed by Nikhil-Vinay, the song had majorly contributed to Tum Bin‘s popularity back then as well.

Here’s the song to revive your memory:

Now, with Tum Bin 2 all set to release, 15 years after the first film in the franchise, the makers have come out with a new version of the song. Titled Teri Fariyaad, this one is a revamped version of the original, featuring Rekha Bhardwaj and also retains Jagjit Singh’s vocals from the original.

The song is a treat for those who’ve missed his magical vocals. Even though his voice has been digitally remastered, it still retains the original texture and depth.

Watch the new song here:

It’ll surely take you back to the golden days when the music industry was dominated by his melancholic songs.

Honestly, it still feels surreal!
