Riteish Deshmukh Donates Rs 25 Lakh For Drought Relief In Latur

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh donated Rs 25 lakhs to the initiative ‘Jalyukta Latur’ as his contribution towards drought relief programme in Maharashtra.

This is what the actor tweeted on his visit to Latur:

‘Jalyukta Latur’ is an initiative under which people have taken up the work of desilting the Manjra river which provides water to the region, Deccan Chronicles reports.

This project will help in collecting the rain water that will be made available through out the year. 

“One of the visitors on site asked Riteish if he would agree to be the face of this campaign and the actor readily agreed to extend his support,”  said one of the sources of The Indian Express .

Before, Deshmukh other Bollywood personalities like Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta, Nana Patekar had made donations to help the drought-hit villages of Maharashtra.
