Shabana Azmi To Play Mother To A Lesbian Teenage Girl In Pakistani Director’s Film

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi is known for her unconventional and bold choices. Years after playing a lesbian character in  Deepa Mehta’s Fire, she is all set to be part of Pakistani actor-director Fawzia Mirza’s American production,‘Signature Move’, where she’s expected to be a mother to a lesbian character played by Fawzia herself, reports DNA

The report further suggests that the film could be an autobiography.

Shabana’s character will be of a mother glued to television soaps, unaware of her daughter’s sexual orientation, who is in a relationship with a Mexican girl. 

Reportedly, Shabana is currently in Chicago shooting for the film.
