10 Lessons We Learnt From India’s First Superhero – Shaktimaan

SW Staff

Remember the first superhero India had? Kanoon ka dost, mujrimo ka dushman – Shaktimaan. Saturdays would be incomplete without our dose of some desi superhero action. A powerhouse dedicated towards fighting against evil and saving mankind, Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri left a mark in our hearts forever, as did Shaktimaan. From the action sequences to the message that he gave at the end of every episode, the show taught us a lot. Here are 10 lessons that we learnt from our very own Shaktimaan:

1.

No matter how strong Tamraj Kilvish is, andhera kayam nai rahega.

2.

There’s a superhero waiting to be unleashed in every Gangadhar Shastri.

3.

Say ‘sorry Shaktimaan’ when you do something wrong.

4.

You will eventually end up with the love of your life. (read Geeta Vishwas)

5.

From having milk to green vegetables, he was always ready with an advice for us.

6.

Put up your big girl/boy shoes when the going gets tough.

7.

Beware of your surroundings and don’t trust people easily. It can be Shalaka or Behroopiya in disguise.

8.

Praying is cool. It was because of him that we know the gayatri mantra by heart.

9.

Geeta Vishwas taught us to always find the root cause of any problem.

10.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you are not worth something. Sometimes, you have to listen to your own voice and not give a fuck about anybody, just like Shaktimaan did. *Fuckfuckfuckfuck*

Thank you, Shaktimaan!
