The new teaser of Sultan featuring Anushka Sharma was released yesterday and showed her in an epic badass avatar. Anushka plays a wrestler in the film, Aarfa, and the character looks loosely inspired by the life of Geeta Phogat, the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in Wrestling at the Commonwealth Games.
Turns out, it’s not just the character and the treatment of Aarfa that looks similar to Geeta. The newly launched teaser of Sultan, revealing Anushka’s look in the movie, looks like a carbon copy of the 2015 ad by the JSW Group on the life of Geeta Phogat.
The JSW Group released a campaign last year that showcased Geeta’s life and Sultan’s new teaser has an uncanny resemblance to this promo. Though the voice over is quite different but the visuals are just too similar.
