Swedish Producer & DJ Avicii Dies Aged 28

Avicii, the Swedish Grammy award-winning music producer and DJ has died, aged 28.

His publicist, Diana Baron said in a statement that the performer had been found dead in Muscat.

The statement read

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman, this Friday afternoon local time, 20 April. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Avicii was known as a pioneer of the Electronic Dance Movement. In fact, just days before his death, he was nominated for a Billboard Music Award for his EP Avicii (01).
