The trailer for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga just dropped and it looks like Bollywood is all set to welcome a new love story – one that we – as the audience – are definitely interested in watching.
The movie revolves around a family looking for a ‘suitable rishta‘ for their young daughter, (played by Sonam Kapoor) like most Indian families.
Rajkummar Rao plays a Muslim playwright and director, who is friends with Sonam Kapoor and apparently also in love with her.
Anil Kapoor plays her father, who is not against an inter-religion marriage… but that is not where the twist is in the movie.
While her family keeps pushing her to marry a boy, Sonam is still fighting to share a truth with her family – that she is not interested in men.
From finally letting her truth out to her family, to fighting the right to love, the trailer is the kind of romantic story that was definitely needed in 2019.
The surprisingly sweet trailer has us excited for not just the story, but also the fun soundtrack that brings back our favorite 90s Punjabi track, without ruining it.
Of course, the undeniably adorable chemistry between Juhi Chawla and Anil Kapoor is also something that has us rooting for the movie.
