Comedy series Fleabag and its main lead and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge without a doubt were the stipulated rockstar of this year’s Emmy Awards.
Not only did the actor surprise everyone by winning the Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work as Fleabag, but she also made her fans super proud by winning Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
Waller-Bridge beat industry stalwart Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the same category for her work in the final season of Veep. With the win, she has become the only person after Tina Fey to win an Emmy for writing and acting in the same year.
