Filmfare released its list of nominations and Rajkumar Hirani is enlisted under the category of ‘Best Director’ for Sanju.

Earlier this year in January, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexual assault.

An assistant director came forward narrating her horrendous experience that allegedly took place during the post-production of Sanju between March and September 2018.

Twitter is lashing out on Filmfare’s decision to include Hirani’s name in the nominations.

Netizens claim that the nomination does a disservice to the #MeToo movement.

Filmfare has not revealed any names of the jury that decides on the nominations. They reportedly take place after considering ‘audience votes and jury recommendations’.
