This Twitter Thread Exposes The Truth About Toxic Relationships That Certain Movies Glorify

While movies may mostly present a fictional universe, the tales are steeped in a reality we live with. Which is why when toxic ideologies are promoted in movies, it leaves an effect on our real life as well.

Something that Twitter user Neha pointed out in a thread on abusive relationships. She talked about how her ex-boyfriend would hurt himself and harass her, all because he could not accept that they broke up.

She clearly states that while movies may have led him – and other people like him – to believe that this was ‘love’, it actually wasn’t. Because making someone feel ‘guilty ‘ for your pain is not an expression of love but rather a case for help.

Her post is a perfect example of the consequences of glorifying problematic behaviour, like stalking, harassment, and toxic masculinity, in the name of ‘love’.
