Two Decades Later, Kajol All Set To Act In A Tamil Movie With Dhanush In ‘VIP2’

The first time Kajol did a film down south was in 1997, a romance-drama, Minsara Kanavu featuring Prabhudeva and Arvind Swamy. The film was later dubbed in Hindi as Sapnay.

Close to 20 years later, Kajol is once again all set to go down south for a film with southern superstar, Dhanush. The film is a sequel to Dhanush’s 2014 blockbuster Vela Illa Pattathari, which was inspired by Will Smith’s The Pursuit of Happyness. Rumour has it that the sequel will have the rags to riches plot too.

VIP 2 will be helmed by Dhanush’s sister-in-law, Soundarya. Bollywood Life reported a source confirming, “The entire script was shared with her, followed by a narration. Kajol loved the story and has given her nod to the film verbally. However, there are certain date issues but the makers are working their schedule around her and she is expected to sign later this month. They are hoping Kajol comes on board soon,”
