Bollywood actor Jitendra’s cousin and film producer Nitin Kapoor allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday afternoon by jumping from the terrace of a five-storey building at Versova in Mumbai.
A report filed by The Asian Age quoted the Police saying that the incident happened when the 58-year old producer who was staying at his sister’s place in Mumbai for undergoing a treatment of depression, returned home after a routine check-up at Kokilaben Hopistal. Nitin according to the report had insisted on going out for a walk to catch some fresh air but instead left home and went to the building’s terrace, from where he jumped.
The report suggests that South Indian actress Jayasudha’s husband Nitin Kapoor was suffering from depression since over a decade and was also facing some financial issues.
While the probe is still underway in connection with the incident, a case of accidental death has been registered by the Versova Police. Nitin’s body will be handed over to his family in Hyderabad only after conducting an autopsy.
Wife Jayasudha is now survived by his two sons Nihar and Shreayan Kapoor.
