If you look close enough, there are stories in all corners of India – and Hotstar VIP’s Kanpuriye brings across three such stories.
Starring Aparshakti Khurana, Divyendu Sharma, and Harsh Mayar in the lead roles, the movie revolves around the story of three boys from the small town of Kanpur, who have big dreams, and even bigger challenges.
Jaitun (Aparshakti) is in love with a girl and wants to marry her – but neither his family nor his society is in ‘love’ with the idea.
Jugnu (Harsh Mayar) is an aspiring cook who wants to participate in a reality show about cooking – but his slap-happy father (played by Vijay Raaz) has other ideas.
Vishal (Divyendu) is a lawyer defending his own self – accompanied by a friend (Rohit Chaudhary of Bareilly Ki Barfi fame) who’d rather search for a life partner than help him.
The trailer brings a talented star cast together, and the story hints at the idiosyncrasies of living in a small town with big dreams. This is one film that appears to have just the right mixture to light up your Diwali weekend.
