Growing up in Mumbai, I was close to India’s premier hub of movie making. And my childhood happened to coincide with a phenomenon called Shah Rukh Khan, which meant that my eyes were glued to the TV set. While Bollywood has kept me company through most of my life, it has also taught me a lot.
Song lyrics, iconic lines more often than not said things I didn’t understand. And through that I found a huge cluster of Hindi words which would become a part of my vocabulary. Urdu too since most of the lyricists, writers use that in Bollywood movies. Here are 25 words I wouldn’t know in life except for a healthy dose of Bollywood:
