Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, is India’s official entry to the 92nd Oscar Awards.
Based on the life of Indian rappers Divine and Naezy, Gully Boy will compete in the Best International Feature Film category.
The film recieved the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) Award at the 23rd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea.
People especially appreciated Ranveer’s performance and the 18-song soundtrack, and many took to Twitter to comment on the selection.
