This Artist Uses Paper Clips To Illustrate Mental Illnesses We Just Can’t Seem To Understand

Arushi Lohia

Even in 2017, mental illness is often taken casually and not even considered a serious problem. From callously using words like ‘mad’ to asking people to ‘get over it’, we’re all forever treating those suffering from a mental disorder rather insensitively.

And to make people aware of various metal disorders and help them understand how it feels, designer Eisen Bernard Bernardo has created beautiful artworks using paper clips.

The idea behind using paper clips is to shed light on how things considered trivial and tiny can go a long way in ensuring togetherness.

Here are 8 of his brilliant works that’ll surely make you think twice:

1. Depression

2. Substance Abuse

3. Dissociative Identity Disorder

4. Bipolar Disorder

5. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

6. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

7. Eating Disorder

8.  Anxiety

Subtle yet powerful.
