When editor and graphic designer John Koenig wrote his glossary of made-up words which can be found here in The Dictionary Of Obscure Sorrows he unwittingly made us yearn for more. It opened up the floodgates of actions and feelings that are a part of our daily whims and routines, but incomplete by mere definition. Which makes us wonder, that as our lives evolved and the range of our emotions and levels of engagement multiply – each distinguished, so unique in design – is there a gap in this language? English lacks the richness of culture, and somewhere in the act of blatant appropriation was left behind some of the poetry of life. Words for the in-between.

And in turn we have put together a suggested list of words we cannot find, or those that were probably just lost in time.
