The wedding season is here in full swing and we’ve all been invited to lavish weddings. The to-be weds and their families make sure that they leave no stone unturned in the preparation for the D day. This is the one time in their lives when they go all out with their expenses so that everything is perfect. But no matter how lavish the best wedding you have been to might’ve been, if anything deserves the title of a ‘Big fat Indian wedding,’ it has to be this!
NRI business tycoon’s daughter Arathi and Dr Aditya Vishnu are getting married in a ₹55 crore wedding pandal that was unfurled yesterday at the Asramam ground in Kollam.
Look at the bride in all that sparkle!
The proud father, Ravi Pillai, whose current net value stands at $2.8 billion has been named the richest Keralite by a Times Of India survey conducted earlier this year.
This, of course, showed in the wedding which was nothing less than the lavish Baahubali sets. The movie’s art director, Sabu Cyril, recreated a palace inspired by Rajasthani architecture spread over a sprawling 8 acres – and that itself cost over 20 crores! Take a look.

And that’s not it. Among all the celebrations there was an elaborate musical show accompanied with dance performances by Malayam sensations Manju Warrier and Sobhana. The Keralite billionaire also has the heart for charity. According to sources, at the occassion of his daughter’s wedding he spend 10 crores in charity initiatives planned in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts.
Cyril admitted that the venue he constructed for the wedding was much larger than the one he had made for Baahubali . “The palace in the film was set up on five acres but this set will cover 40,000 square feet spread over eight acres,” Cyril told TOI. He also added that it will take a fortnight for his crew of 200 members just to dismantle the pandal !
