With Aamir being crucified for expressing his opinions and Shah Rukh Khan being called an ‘outsider’ multiple times, Sonakshi Sinha being shamed on social media, and with several other actors at the receiving end of public as well as media flak, what we often forget is that these actors do not have a greater responsibility towards the country than you and I do. And it’s clearly not their job to express opinions on everything that happens in our country.
Speaking on why it’s not their job to take a stand on everything that happens around them, the leading ladies of Bollywood make a solid point on The Actresses Roundtable with Rajeev Masand. What Kalki Koechlin says summarises the whole debate for us and we definitely agree. She says, “For every actor to be an activist on everything is ridiculous.”
