Every day, newspapers carry gruesome stories of girls being tortured and murdered over dowry. We read reports about couples being killed in the name of honour, for falling in love with someone outside the community. There are even stories about lovers giving up their lives to be united in death.
This guy didn’t do any of that. He married someone within his caste, someone his parents approved of. He didn’t torture his wife over dowry. And yet, he was wronged.
