Most of us end up staring at our phones or binge watching TV shows for hours on end before falling asleep. While we’ve been told by worried parents that this could be bad for our eyes, Dr Dan Siegel, clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, just made it pretty clear that the harm done by this practise is way worse than thought before. Several toxins build up if you don’t get enough sleep, leading to faltering attention, impaired memory and a total mess-up of your insulin.
