The National Students Federation of Pakistan, a platform to redirect the thinking of students and others alike from the inept politics of the ruling powers, has proposed an event that is as heartwarming as it is heart wrenching. They want to form a human shield for the Hindu Holi revellers, to show solidarity with their brothers and sisters.
This federation fights for student unions, campus democracy and student rights. For them, open minded and logical student politics is the key, as opposed to their admission mafia, gang culture and hegemony of mainstream political parties.
It really makes us wonder why we attack the things that make us happiest. There really is no point in attacking a symbol of laughter and joy, and the NSF taking this step is really a beacon of hope for brotherhood between India and Pakistan.
