They say that genes skip a generation. The close bond between grandparents and grandchildren is perhaps a manifestation of this. Even though there is one entire generation between the two, a grandparent will always be special, and in a lot of cases, more of a friend than a parent figure.
But as we grow older, other things take priority and we spend progressively less time with our grandparents. From spending every evening with them, our interaction goes down to an occasional phone call. But no matter how busy we may be, the love for our grandparents never fades.
