Can you imagine what it would be like if we were still being ruled by the British? All the things we take for granted would not exist. We would be treated like second class citizens in our own country. All the rights we claim with such passion, gone.
But we’re free. Tomorrow, we will mark the 69 th anniversary of the day when we achieved independence. And we would not have seen this day had it not been for the patriotism and sacrifices of our heroic freedom fighters, activists and revolutionaries. We don’t just owe them our freedom, we owe them our happiness.
