According to the data revealed by the right to information query, the fees earned from revaluation between 2010 and 2014 increased from Rs 2 crore to Rs 5.6 crore. Coincidentally, this is the period when the revaluation scam hit the college. The RTI data shows that in 2012, 14,586 of the 68,653 candidates who applied for revaluation were declared to have passed. Similarly, in the first half of 2013, of the 43,256 students who applied for revaluation, 10,509 cleared the exam, which is pretty incriminating evidence of a scam that was just waiting to happen.

Former senate member Pradeep Sawant commented that the university needs to reduce the revaluation fee, as it is unfair on the students and the results are never on time as it is.
