Worried About Star Wars Spoilers Polluting The Internet? Try This Chrome Extension

By now, you must have realized that Indian Star Wars fans are fuming over the fact that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is releasing on December 25th, a week after today’s ‘worldwide’ release. Yep, the suits in Disney’s marketing division decided that even if the ‘force is about to wake’, it’s still not strong enough to tackle India’s obsession with SRK and Bajirao Mastani .

So what if it means that it feels like we’re getting the hand-me-down version of Star Wars, right? (#FML)

On top of that, there are those out there who think it’s funny to post spoilers of the film out there, ruining the experience for the rest of the fans, especially those in India. Apparently, moderators of 4chan have hijacked certain forums on Reddit and are posting spoilers of the film there. And I’m pretty sure there will be some on social media sites and comment sections, who’ll do the same. Yep, no place is sacred.

Thankfully, at least for Google Chrome users, there’s some relief.

There’s an extension called Star Wars Spoiler Blocker that once installed puts a warning screen in front of any page that has any spoilers from Star Wars. Quite neat, isn’t it?

But like any other efficient product, this extension sometimes goes overboard with censoring spoilers. We found out when we installed it and tried reading an article that promoted the extension.

Guess what? It blocked that too.

Just one week more. May the Force be with us until then.

PS – If someone says “cam print”, don’t look back – just run!
