This 89 Year Old Woman Reliving Her Memories Of Gandhi And The Partition WIll Warm Your Heart

Sriparna

Radhika Kishin Chehnani was born in the year 1925 in Hyderabad, Sindh. She has been witness to 3 most key phases in India’s history: a pre-independent India, India during its darkest hours i.e. partition & post-Independence India. Before Independence, Ms. Chehnani’s uncle was closely & actively involved with the Congress & Mahatma Gandhi. Since she was living with her uncle, she got the wonderful opportunity to interact with the man (Gandhi) himself. In this short excerpt from her interview, Mrs. Chehnani fondly remembers her meeting with Gandhi, holding demonstrations in protest of the British Raj as a teenager, being caught by the travel bug, her adventurous & forever traveling twenties and finally her migration from Sindh in Pakistan to Bombay in India
