On our 68th Independence Day, we all enjoyed a long weekend, took in the patriotic fervour, flew kites and bought a few plastic flags. But what happens to our patriotism once 15th August passes by? More importantly, what happens to the tokens of patriotism we purchase? Friends Forever Foundation decided to find out and asked a few people “What will you do with your flags after Independence Day?” As you will see, they found that the answers they got did not reflect “the reality on the ground.”
Our National Flag is a symbol of our pride and our collective identity. Let’s treat it with the respect it deserves. Jai Hind!
