This 10-Year-Old Indian Girl Is The Youngest TEDx Speaker & She Makes More Sense Than Adults Do

Meet Ishita Katyal, a 10-year-old from Pune, Maharashtra, who recently became the youngest Indian to speak at the TEDx Youth Conference in New York. This 5th grader eloquently addressed the crowd as she spoke on ‘What do you want to be now’, which dethroned the notion that children are too small to make a difference in the world.

Her TEDx journey began in 2013, when she visited an event that was organized by TEDx, Pune.

She loved it so much that she expressed a desire to participate in future TEDx events. To make her dream come true, she gave her first talk titled “Why you don’t have to wait till you grow up” at TEDxBhilwara. TEDxBhilwara provided Ishita with a platform which paved way for her future endeavours.

“I believe, age is just a number. I believe any child is capable of great actions and can touch the lives of others, regardless of his or her age”, says the young icon.

Not just that, Ishita has had her fare share of achievements in the past too! She authored a book named Simran’s Diary at a tender age of 8! The book was initially released on Amazon’s Kindle Store & went on to be published by Patridge Publishers.
