Syed Muhammad Bashir, popularly known as Bashir Badr, is one of the most proficient Urdu poets of our time. He served as a lecturer at both Aligarh Muslim University and Meerut University and was awarded the Padma Shri award in 1999 for his contribution to literature. In fact, he has released more than seven collections of Urdu poems and even been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in Urdu.
